meet the founders:
Bianca and Malaena share exceptional dance careers, in Aotearoa, New Zealand (where they are from) and globally. They both trained under ‘The Palace Dance Studio’ lead by world renowned choreographer and director Parris Goebel. They trained extensively for many years and became the World Hip Hop Champions, taking home gold, silver and bronze medals at Hip Hop International during the years they competed. Their all-female dance group ‘Request Dance Crew’ became very popular, going viral on Youtube and touring/teaching all over the world.
Following this success, they were both hired to be in the original cast of Cirque du Soleil’s - Michael Jackson ONE. they moved to canada for creation at cirque’s hq , then to Las Vegas for the world premier of the show.
Bianca performed in Michael Jackson ONE for 2 years and then moved back to New Zealand to pursue her acting career. She completed her Diploma at ‘The Actors’ Program’ and has been working as an actress since 2017, both on screen and theater. Some of her acting credits include: Lead role ‘Elinor’ in the stage adaptation of Jane Austin’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’, ‘Merry Murderess- ‘Pop’/ Ensemble’ in ‘Chicago - The Musical’ at leading New Zealand theater company ‘The Court Theater’, ‘Portia’ in the Australasian premiere of ‘Something Rotten - The Musical’ and ‘Miranda’ in popular NZ soap opera ‘Shortland Street’. She also choreographed and taught OK Now Ladies in New Zealand for over 6 years, attracting a huge community of incredible women.
Malaena continued with Cirque du Soleil, performing in various Cirque shows for over 12 years. Some of her other credits include dancing with: Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Usher & Pitbull. She is also a choreographer and director and equally thrives working as a ‘behind the scenes’ creative, most recently winning an Emmy award as associate choreographer in the television series ‘Blindspotting’. Malaena has had appearances performing on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’, ‘The David Letterman Show’, and was a part of the Las Vegas residency of the Tony Award winning broadway show - ‘Freestyle Love Supreme’, conceived by the legendary Lin-Manuel Miranda. Malaena also had an exclusive documentary feature on TVNZ’s ‘20/20’, and was associate choreographer under the notable and revered director - Terrence Malick, for a Facebook short film for VR featuring movement artist icons - Jon Boogz and Lil Buck.
